Description Ondrej Langr 2008-06-18 15:26:43 UTC
Ideal way of setting a code formatting from users' point of view is not browsing through dozens of options, but
formatting visually an example piece of code instead.

Currently, there are many options for code formatting and indentation (classification of these is not exactly clear) and
to set the out-of-the-box IDE to follow company guidelines (or personal preferences) for code formatting can take
significant amount of time.
Comment 1 Ondrej Langr 2008-06-18 15:29:15 UTC
Note that this enhancement would significantly improve out-of-box experience and shorten the time necessary for NetBeans
deployment.
Comment 2 Vitezslav Stejskal 2008-06-19 10:08:00 UTC
Good. Do we have any idea how this should actually work? I mean from users point of view.
Comment 3 Jan Becicka 2008-06-19 10:36:56 UTC
The idea is to have piece of code containing all language constructs. User will be allowed to format this code according
to her needs instead of writing how many " " should be between if and {

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
