this issue is discussed at some length in _Rich Client Programming_ chapter 23, both in mentioning jTidy (p. 464
footnote) and in building an external-application handler for HTML Tidy.

It would be beneficial also to use JTidy for internall HTML parsing, it requires more investigation.
