Description sandi_ro 2007-08-07 23:04:34 UTC
Hi,

I think it would be helpful for to have a feature that lets developers switch between different base class of forms.
For example one could start with java.awt.Dialog then switch to javax.swing.JDialog and then netbeans will automatically
update autogenerated code.

We can have (some or all) components migrated as well if possible. For example an awt text field to a swing text field.

This may be useful for someone who wants to upgrade some legacy code to swing.

see also issue 103628.

Thanks.

Just for clarification, this report represents a general request to be able to change type of a component in the GUI form (including the form itself - the root component) while keeping the properties that also exist in the new class and also preserving the placement in the layout.
