Getting More Involved in Projects
For general information on contributing to NetBeans, see Contributing to netbeans.org.
Initially, to get involved with a project, you can click the Bookmark link on any project's home page and instantly get an Observer role in that project. This will add the project to your MyPage.
If you're already an observer and want to get more involved with the project, start connecting with other members of the project in that project's mailing lists and get to know how the project is being worked or managed. Once you get to know everyone, try asking one of the project administrators for a higher role in the project like Software Developer or Content Developer.
Finding Project Members' Roles
To see what roles people have in a project:
- Display the project home page.
- Click the number next to Members to show all the members of the project.

- In the Project Members list, you can click the down arrow next to the Role heading to reorganize the list by role.

- You can click a project administrator's member name to see what their netbeans.org username is, and you can send them email at username@netbeans.org.
