- editor must open the file and scroll to the last edited line. i.e. open file and restore to last editing state. cursor should be at last edit point. - editor must remember bookmarks and search,replace texts across sessions - editor must provide configurable ability to strip whitespaces from the end of each line. - common default colors must be available as a global editor settings - i.e applicable across all editors viz. foreground, background, font must be inherited. So for e.g. changing the default bgrd color should change all editors. - Color themes ( at least for morning and evening ) must be provide and changable across all editors via an icon on the status bar. - ability to zoom in and zoom out via an icon on the status bar - use the same editor for editing abreviations. With color coding, key board shortcuts and all. JB 2005 free edition does a wonderful job here. - ability to select something and adding it as abbreviation using the context menu
Almost all enhancements you have mentioned are already tracked in issuezilla as enhancements or defects. These two (IIRC) are new ones: 1. ability to zoom in and zoom out via an icon on the status bar 2. ability to select something and adding it as abbreviation using the context menu Changing to enhancement
