Description janicki 2012-01-13 22:55:25 UTC
Product Version = NetBeans IDE 7.1 (Build 201112071828)
Operating System = Mac OS X version 10.6.8 running on x86_64
Java; VM; Vendor = 1.6.0_29
Runtime = Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 20.4-b02-402

The javadoc formatting is a bit confused. See the attached screen shot. Note line 17 is bold, but 28 isn't. The only difference is there is no period at the end of line 28. If I add a period, suddenly that line is bold too. For what it's worth, nowhere in my Options > Font & Colors > Syntax do I define bold for any javadoc or comment settings; this is both for "Java" and "All Languages".

Also note line 12. I temporarily set "Javadoc Tags" to pink. As you can see, part of my email address is mistaken for a tag.

Also note that I had changed the default font to Gill Sans. Conveniently, its bold face stands out to illustrate this bug.
Comment 3 Jiri Prox 2012-01-18 08:43:19 UTC
Reproducible

I guess the first sentence should be bold regardless if there is a dot or not

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20120116-e397acbff74d)
Java: 1.7.0_02; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 22.0-b10
System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86; Cp1250; en_US (nb)
User directory: C:\Users\jprox\.netbeans\dev
Cache directory: C:\Users\jprox\.netbeans\dev\var\cache

To the other problems:

Part of email is recognized as tag - it is filed as another issue (I can find it now)

Setting - see language:java, category: javadoc first sentence

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.

Thanks for your cooperation,
