After add folder to "ignored folders" list, folder is still visible, scanning project scan it, find in project search in it.

Did you try quitting NetBeans and restarting the project? When I added ignored folders they weren't excluded from the open file window until I had restarted NB completely. I tried closing/opening the project but that wasn't enough.

If this is your problem then this bug report should be renamed to "Ignored folders should work immediately" or "adding ignored folder should cause project rescan to account for changes".

The current system, though functional in the end, seems broken when you are using it for the first time. My first instinct was to assume the feature was broken like you, and this is terrible usability.

Restart don't help. My friends use Netbeans 6.9.1 on Windows, and they don't need to restart IDE to "active" ignored folders.

Since I've reported this I got new PC, new Linux instalation, and Netbeans 7 RC2. Ignored folders still don't work for me.

Batch reassigning.

I cannot reproduce your problem. What I did exactly:

- have an exiting PHP project
- create a folder in it, directly underneath Source Files
- open Project Properties dialog, Ignored Folders, select the newly created folder
- OK

Project in Projects view is "reloaded" and the directory is not there anymore. However, one can still find this folder in Files view.

Are your steps different? Can you still reproduce? Or, could you please archive and attach your "nbproject" directory please? But first review the files and ensure there are no passwords and similar information there.

Thanks for reporting.
