Do you mean - logging out from X? If so I am not sure we have enough time to save all modified files, but probably can do that. I am assigning this to openide/editor - they probably would know where to implement it. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/lang/hook-design.html BTW: There are still problems with such hooks, e.g. see http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=21261 Yes. I mean logging out from X. Every other KDE application can show "Files modified. Save Changes?" dialog and wait forever. Only NetBeans is shut down without any questions. I understand why you have changed the issue type to "enhancement". As it is one from your point of view as a developer. For every user of NetBeans and especially for every user of a platform based application it is a bug. Please change the type to "DEFECT" if you agree. Regards --Tim Tim, I agree with you, but NetBeans is not "an application" it is "a java application". So there are some constrains that we can't cross ... from my *qe* point of view ;) Functionality you are asking for were never implemented in the IDE and that's the reason for Request for Enhancement. I don't even see a way for a java application to delay the logout. It is probably just killed offhand as it supposedly doesn't implement the necessary X protocol. Anyway, far far from editor specific problem, this is IDE-wide. The IDE should shutdown cleanly. good to know |
