Under Linux Mint 14 (Cinnamon 1.6), if Netbeans is in Full Screen mode, every dialog window opens "behind" the main window and it cannot be accessed using the mouse. The only workaround is to press the key the shows the Mint Menu in the bottom left then you can see the dialog and try to close it. This behaviour does not occur in normal screen mode.

Examples of hidden dialogs are the ones opened by "Find usages" and "Replace" commands.

Please attach your IDE log and JDK version info and reopen, thanks.

This is the log file created by opening Netbeans (no open project), then going to Full Screen mode, opening the Tools --> Options window. The window is not shown because is behind the main editor window and the only way to close it is to press the ESC key.

$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_09"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea7 2.3.3) (7u9-2.3.3-0ubuntu1~12.10.1)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 23.2-b09, mixed mode)
Comment 6 Stanislav Aubrecht 2012-12-12 14:00:21 UTC
Cannot reproduce on Ubuntu 12.4 with JDK 1.7 update 9
Comment 7 zerog80 2012-12-12 21:15:32 UTC
I can confirm this problem is present on Linux Mint 14 (Cinnamon), which is based on Ubuntu 12.10 with OpenJDK 1.7u9, but has a different window manager. I think the problem is caused by the interaction between OpenJDK swing elements and the new Cinnamon desktop environment instead of Gnome.

This happens with Gnome 3 as well (f.e. Options dialog)
