Summary: RCP last close/start up position and GUI responsiveness issues on dual screen setup
Product: platform Reporter: patrick_net <patrick_net>
Component: Window SystemAssignee: Stanislav Aubrecht <saubrecht>
Status: RESOLVED WORKSFORME
Severity: normal Keywords: DUAL_MONITOR
Priority: P3
Version: 7.0
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 7 x64
Issue Type: DEFECT Exception Reporter:

Description patrick_net 2011-03-09 10:12:05 UTC
-When starting the RCP on Dual screen 1, dragging to Dual screen 2 user some functionality and then dragging it back to screen 1 works fine.

-When closing the RCP on dual screen 2 and restarting the RCP, the RCP starts on dual screen 2 since that's where it was closed last time. When the RCP is dragged to dual screen 1, the RCP freezes (the GUI doesn't react), but does receive events. When dragged back to dual screen 2, the GUI changes triggered by the events when the GUI was frozen are updated and all functionality is back to normal again i.e. the GUI is responsive again on screen 2.

To solve this problem / to make the RCP work again on dual screen 1, the userdir has to be thrown away i.e. clear the last position.

works for me in

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20111020-9b23920d74ca)
Java: 1.7.0; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 21.0-b17
System: Windows 7 version 6.1 running on x86; Cp1250; en_US (nb)

try updating your graphics driver and/or JDK

it *could* be also caused by embedded browser if you're using it
