the http://www.caucho.com/resin-3.0/quercus/ site makes available a .jar file that provides an implementation of php 
in java.

this is usable directly in glassfish and does not require the use of apache, mod_php etc.

it would be great to get netbeans out of the box support for this, along with the ability to debug php pages using 
this implementation of php.
