Those experimenting with Scala probably have it installed somewhere
and have configured SCALA_HOME in order to work with it from the
command line. However, when inside the IDE, the plugin might be using
a more recent or older runtime to do its job. 

In both cases, developers might want to use the runtime/compiler
shipped with the IDE to build the project - and it might be just a
temporary change, in order to test something. Therefore, there should
be an easy way to switch from one mode to the other.
